Life is a series of transitions and change. It is something we have all had to face on a regular basis recently and we still are.
It is hard to believe that our country entered the first Lockdown in March 2020. Since then, we have been through so many changes as individuals, as families, as a school, as a community, as a country and as a world of people. We are still having to live by restrictions and are all awaiting new government guidance and wondering what may or may not happen next.
Throughout this time, our children have met these changes head on and have shown how well they can cope with change; changes in how they learn, from being in school to needing to learn remotely, to being back in school, out again and then back again. (I do not wish to sound flippant but it sounds a little like the Hokey Cokey). All these changes will have had an impact on each one of us, to different extents, and we may not know to what extent for days, months or years to come; but we are all affected and transformed by the changes and transitions we go through.
As we come closer to the end of this academic year, it is time to prepare for more change; changes in who will be our teachers next year. As I have shared previously, at the end of this year we say goodbye to Mr Vernon and Mrs de Winton as they go on to new adventures and we say a ‘farewell’ to Mrs Whitehead as she goes to have her baby. As we are sad to see these people go, whether long or short term, we look forward to welcoming our new members of staff; and we have quite a few of them 😊. We welcomed Mrs Gater and Mrs Hodges at the start of this half term. Mrs Gater is a TA working across KS1 at present and Mrs Hodges has joined our FSU team. In September, we will welcome two new teachers Mr Elliott and Miss Uglow, and we welcome back Miss Dinning as she returns from the maternity leave.
Looking forward to September the schools class staffing will be as follows:
FSU: Mrs Owens and Miss Uglow with Mrs Curran and Mrs Hodges
Year 1: Mrs Phillips and Mrs Dinning with Mrs Copper and Mrs Hockaday
Year 2: Mrs Watts with Mrs Ostrer and Mrs Gater
Year 3: Mrs Daitz with Mrs Follet and Miss Sheen
Year 4: Miss White and Mrs Finnegan with Mrs Wannell
Year 5: Mr Elliott with Mrs Muldoon
Year 6: Miss Greygoose and Mrs Pearson
Mrs Dewick will be with us, providing Interventions and personalised support, Mrs Hartmann will continue in her role as SENDCO and Mrs Edwards and Mrs Adesina continue in the office.
We are in the process of planning for when and how a transition morning can be facilitated and we will provide more information on this when we know more; schools remain under strict CV19 restrictions, so we will be thinking creatively if needed. Those parents whose children have been identified as needing a more enhanced transition will receive further information about this early next week.
We have four more weeks of this term, and we aim to ensure that we make the most of every day we have with the children to ensure they continue to make progress and feel happy and secure. Lots of learning lies ahead 😊
Have a lovely weekend.
