Today, as I worked in my office, I heard music being played from the FSU outside area. I went to look out the window to see what was happening and there were about ten Big Acorns, each with different instruments, working together to create their own music. It was wonderful to watch. There was a conductor trying to organise the group and they were all working hard to work together.
They were so joyful in what they were doing; skipping around the space, jumping, twirling and genuinely enjoying what they were doing and the noise they were making. There was rhythm in what they were creating and finally they came together to do a rendition of ‘Jingle Bells’. At the end of the song, they all disappeared back inside. Not only had it brought happiness to them as a group but it also brought happiness to myself and other staff members in the staff room at that time; and that is the power of music, of any kind. It was lovely to hear.
Have a lovely weekend.
