The RA100 has now been ratified by the Governors and has been discussed with staff. The complete document in now available to read on the schools website. I know it is lengthy but it contains all the information about the CV19 protocols moving forward from Monday 11th October.
Below I have tried to outline the major change, which is entering and exiting at the start and end of the day. I have tried to be as clear as possible and teachers will be ‘walking’ the children through some things to ensure they understand what to do.

Key information for parents is as follows:
Start and End of the school day- Times
From Monday 11th October staggered entry and exit times will finish.
The school day will start at 8.55am and end at 3.30pm. This applies for Years 1-6.
Year 1-6
Children need to be IN CLASS by 8.55am for the start of registration period.
Big and Little Acorns
The school day will start at 9am and end at 3.30 pm for FSU.
Little Acorns whose parents have chosen for their session to end at 3pm will continue.
Entering and exiting the school in the mornings and after school
Both the Blue and Yellow gates will be open from 8.45 am and they will be locked at by 9.10 am. Any child in Year 1 – Year 6 arriving after 9.05am will be marked as late.
KS2 children- Years 3-6 Entering School
From 8.45am children may use either gate and walk through the KS2 playground straight to their classrooms to start Early Morning Work.
ALL CHILDREN NEED TO BE IN CLASS BY 8.55AM FOR THE START OF THE REGISTRATION PERIOD.
There will be a KS2 teacher on duty at the gates to the KS2 playground and parents are welcome to walk to these gates with their child if they need to. The teacher on duty at the gate will be available to take messages to pass on to any other teacher in KS2; such as who a child may be being collected by that evening, if there is a change. Not all KS2 teachers will be available in the morning as they will be in class to meet the children and lead Early Morning Work.
The office will be open and parents are welcome to speak the admin team during this time. You will also be able to make use of the secure drop box in the foyer area. There are also forms in the rack in the foyer that can be used to send messages to teachers.
Year 3
Children will enter the school through the Year 3 and 4 cloakroom area; as they have all year until now.
Children need to leave their bags, packed lunch boxes and coats in appropriate areas in this cloakroom. Water bottles and snack need to be taken to the classroom.
Year 4
Children will enter the school through the Year 3 and 4 cloakroom area.
Children need to leave their bags, packed lunch boxes and coats in appropriate areas in this cloakroom. Water bottles and snack need to be taken to the classroom.
Year 5
Children to walk around to their external class door (the one they have been using all year so far) and to use the cloakroom outside their classroom to hang their coats. Bags, pack lunch boxes, water bottles and snacks to be taken into class and stored in line with the class teachers structures.
Year 6
Children to walk through the Year 6 cloakroom area and straight into class; just as they been doing since the start of this year.
KS2 exiting the school at 3.30pm Years 3- 6
At 3.20pm both the Blue and Yellow Gates (those at the front of the school) will be opened and parents may start to arrive to come onto site.
Any KS2 parents coming to collect their child will need to wait at the gates to the KS2 playground. KS2 teachers will bring their children out to the KS2 playground at 3.30pm and the first teacher to be out at the end of the day will open the KS2 playground gates to enable children to safely be collected by their parent/carer. Teachers will keep the children with them until they have seen the parent/carer to ensure a safe handover. Parents will be able to speak to class teachers during this time.

Parents are not to go into the unit as the children are in a routine of going straight to their morning learning.

Lunchtimes
We have decided to keep our extended lunch times for a while longer as having lower numbers in the hall has led to quieter, calmer lunch times. The only changes will be:
For now we have decided that the children will continue to wear their PE kit into school on their PE days. We have found it has given more time to the actual teaching of PE and for now we will keep this in place. FSU staff will communicate with parents/carers of Big Acorns when they are to start changing for PE.
Washing of hands and Cleaning
Regular hand washing, hand sanitising and regular cleaning of tables and resources will stay on place. Our children are used to these routines and this is something that we MUST continue to do.
