As we continue to focus on our School Values we are starting to consider Opportunities for All. The children have defined this value as: I dream BIG and put 100% effort into all I do! I actively involve myself in my learning and the many opportunities school provides, supporting others to do the same. I know that we are not all the same and I accept and celebrate others' differences.
It seems like a very apt value to be considering as this week we welcomed back or peripatetic music teachers and our sports coaches. It has been so lovely to hear live music in the school again; piano, drums, brass, guitar, ukulele club and woodwind. A huge well done to those children who remained engaged and involved in learning their musical instruments via TEAMS during Lockdown. That showed real perseverance.
It has also been wonderful to see the children out with various sports coaches, outside, playing bench ball, football, and cricket during lunch time play, in PE sessions and also after school. Not only does this develop team skills and lots of running around but the amount of smiles and laughter it has created has been really great to hear.
On behalf of the school, I would like to thank these professionals for returning to work with us; it’s been a long time coming and we are SO happy to have you back. And, well done to the children who have taken the opportunity to either take up an instrument this term or try a new sporting activity or join a new team; new things bring new interests and new friends.
Have a good weekend; I wonder what you may do that’s new?
Take care
