On Tuesday we will be taking part in Young Voices Biggest Sing. It will be an opportunity for the whole school to come together and to be part of something that is taking place in schools across the country and the whole world.

As part of the event, the Year 6 children will be working together to form the ‘school choir’ and these children will be participating in the Young Voices Guinness Book of World Records attempt for the biggest number of children singing simultaneously.  Thank you to Jane Trollope for organising our officials and stewards to support us in this.

To help us further, we have included the words to the song that will be sung: Bill Withers “Lovely Day” and we would appreciate it if parents could work with their children to learn the song; every child will be singing on the day J. Thank you Mrs Haysom for organising this event and thank you Mrs Whitehead for organising the technical side of the event for us. Here is a link for the music https://youtu.be/0US_6xVX4Vk

    Happy singing

    Mrs Pipe

    Lovely Day – Bill Withers

    Verse 1
When I wake up in the morning, love
And the sunlight hurts my eyes
    And something without warning, love
    Bears heavy on my mind

    Chorus
    Then I look at you
And the world's alright with me
    Just one look at you
And I know it's gonna be
A lovely day (lovely day, lovely day, lovely day, lovely day)
(Lovely day, lovely day, lovely day, lovely day)
A lovely day (lovely day, lovely day, lovely day, lovely day)
(Lovely day, lovely day, lovely day, lovely day)

    Verse 2
When the day that lies ahead of me
    Seems impossible to face
When someone else instead of me
Always seems to know the way

    Chorus
    Then I look at you
And the world's alright with me
    Just one look at you
And I know it's gonna be
A lovely day (lovely day, lovely day, lovely day, lovely day)
(Lovely day, lovely day, lovely day, lovely…

    Verse 3
When the day that lies ahead of me
    Seems impossible to face
And when someone else instead of me
Always seems to know the way

    Chorus
    Then I look at you
And the world's alright with me
    Just one look at you
And I know it's gonna be
A lovely day (lovely day, lovely day, lovely day, lovely day)
(Lovely day, lovely day, lovely day, lovely day)
A lovely day (lovely day, lovely day, lovely day, lovely day)
(Lovely day, lovely day, lovely day, lovely day)
(Lovely day, lovely day, lovely day, lovely day)
