Children and young people today are using the immense power of digital media to explore, connect, create, and learn in ways never before imagined. With this power, young people have extraordinary opportunities, and yet they face many potential pitfalls.
At The Topsham School we seek to ensure children are both safeguarded and educated about the potential risks associated with online activity.
Within our policy section you will find our policies on e-safety and acceptable use. Our curriculum section provides an outline of our programme of teaching to ensure children develop into digitally literate and safe users of a variety of media and platforms.

Reporting a concern / Safeguarding help for children
While using different devices, you might see something which worries you. If you have a concern about something you have seen online, please tell a responsible adult. Remember, it is important to report your concerns and tell an adult to keep yourself and your friends safe.
In school time:
Remember staff in school are always there is you need help or support with anything school or home related.
If you need support outside of school time:
Do you need immediate help or have a real emergency?
If so, call 999 and tell the call handler what the problem is.
Remember to keep calm and just tell them the facts.
Childline is a free and private service where you can find information or get help if you are worried about something or being bullied.
