Will it Fizz, Pop, Bang, Bubble? We had an exciting second science day exploring lots of different chemical reactions. We blew bubbles, made our own bubble makers, made balloon rockets, lauched air rockets, asked questions about changing chemical reactions, made mini rockets and launchers and really got excited about science!
A chocolatier visited year 4 as part of their chocolate and fair trade theme. The children tasted different flavoured ganache and then piped them into chocolate eggs. The children investigated packaging in are looking forward to their visit to the chocolate shop. They will be designing and making their own packaging and chocolates as part of the theme.
Our Dragons week, linking together art, music, dance and literacy has got off to a great start. The children arrived at school on Monday to find a nest and large footprints. They have made a start of their 3D artistic designs and things are beginning to take shape. Can you guess what they will turn out to be?
Our choir performed at the NEC in Birmingham with 6500 children from across the country. The children learnt a range of songs and on the day some dance routines. The children were amazed and enthralled by the size of the arena and the huge audience to perform to. there was a live band and a number of other artists performed alongside them. A fantastic and memorable experience!
The Community Christmas Party is a great way to say thank you to all the friends, neighbours, PTA member and Governors amongst others that help and support our school over the year. Year 6 did a great job at serving refreshments, entertaining guests and the choir performed brilliantly! Well done everyone.
The school hosted a British Citizenship ceremony. The children witnessed the Lord Mayor invest and give citizenship to those who had applied and then hosted a tea party for the new citizens and their guests. The children in Year 5 and 6 had also taken part in a workshop the day before learning about the countries the applicants had come from and the reasons why they might be seeking citizenship in the UK.
