Mr Millar and Miss White were fortunate to spend several days visiting our new partner schools in Lithuania. We visited the city of Alytus with five other schools from the Exeter area. During the three days we met the city Mayor, visited five partner schools who age ranges were from 3 - 16. We were made to feel very welcome and greeted by each school with traditional dances, foods and were able to visit classrooms to the learning taking place. We saw a variety of lessons including, European studies, craft, felting and maths. This is part of a EU funded project to look at values lead leadership. We shall be welcoming back our partner schools in February for a leadership conference when they will also have the opportunity to visit our schools.
It was lovely to welcome lots of parent to join their Reception children in a rocket making session today. The session launched the next part of the children's learning theme, 'On the Go'. Later in the week the children will be using their phonic skills to label the parts of the rocket and show their great writing skills.
It was great to see lots of parents and grandparents at Stop and Spell this morning, finding out about how we teach spelling and phonics in school. Lots of games played and fun had!
