Pastoral Care
We pride ourselves on the care and guidance given to children. We recognise that each child is an individual and needs nurture, care and support in order to flourish. Central to children achieving their academic potential is that they feel safe and secure and are able to grow into confident and self assured individuals.
As this is a community school children come from a variety of backgrounds, however we seek to ensure that all children have equality of opportunity and our pastoral support programme is second to none. The size of our school enables all children to quickly become known to all the adults within our school community and as such because of this we are able to cater and make provision for children’s social and emotional development.
We have several members of staff who are trained and accredited Thrive Practitioners who provide a listening ear and range of individually tailored activities to children who might require this support. We have a dedicated Pastoral Teaching Assistant who has exclusive time to support children and families when needed.
As a school we follow the SEAL programme (Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning) and provided dedicated times within our weekly curriculum to Personal, Health and Social education lessons.
