Our extensive grounds make a fantastic environment in which to explore and learn about the natural world. As a school we seek to ensure a low carbon footprint and teach the children about the world in which they live and grow. Our sustainabley focused gardens are developed and maintained by the children. Produce grown is sold to through our produce shop at the front of the school and proceeds used to purchase new seeds and tools. Children within our Early Years Foundation Stage make great use of the garden and poly tunnel and across the school this valuable resource contributes to our curriculum teaching within science. A weekly after school club ensures children of all ages can get involved. The expertise of our ‘green fingered’ staff is also shared widely with other schools. Whenever possible we aim to reduce, reuse and recycle. Our sponsored solar panels generate electricity and this, along with our positive approach to recycling, helps children develop a sense of curiosity and respect for the natural world and its resources.
